Can human
pharmaceuticals be sold to licensed
veterinarians?
Yes, in most
cases. The
FDA Extra-Label Use Rule allows veterinarians to
use human pharmaceuticals to treat animals
appropriately. Certain limitations apply
when treating live-stock.

What
are specialty pharmaceuticals?
Specialty pharmaceuticals — many of which are
biologically derived — are used primarily to
treat chronic or rare diseases, typically
involve treatment regimens that call for ongoing
clinical monitoring and patient education, and
frequently require special handling, storage and
delivery.

What is an ADR?
ADR stands for Authorized
Distributor of Record.
How does a
distributor become an ADR?
Distributors work closely
with the manufacturer to become an ADR, which
typically entails convincing the manufacturer
that it is firm of integrity, as well as a good
business match. ADR status is an individual
business decision granted by each manufacturer
to the distributor or distributors that it
wishes to do business with. Per HDMA.

Why buy from an ADR?
ADR's are the first to receive important product warnings
and recall information from the manufacturer's, which is shared with
customer's in a timely manner. A
customer of the third or fourth distributor to own the product may not
receive important alerts as quickly.
My
supplier provides a pedigree, that means it is safe, right?
A pedigree doesn't ensure your product a safe journey.
In fact, it really only tells you just how many people have handled
your product before you administer it to your patients.
I
can get these drugs for less elsewhere, why buy from you?
Ask your client.
Do they want you to inject their pet with a drug that is delivered to
you with the same high standards that are required by human hospitals or do
they want to save a couple of dollars a vial?
